Questions about the submission process after reading the material below?
Please email: chris@onteambuilding.com
Who submits content?
Young team builders fill the Blog with content. They are high school and college ages students leading team building programs with youth and adult groups under a school or organization contracted to provide team building program experiences.
What content submissions are we accepting?
Content submission are related to team building in some way. If the material has the potential to help team builders, all over the world, learn and grow, it can be submitted for review.
Where do I send submissions?
Send to: chris@onteambuilding.com
Dr. Chris Cavert is part of the Young Team Builders editorial team. He will forward your submission to an editing team member closely related to your submission topic.
How long does the submission review process take?
Initial submission reviews can take up to four weeks. This depends on the amount of content in the review process at the time of your submission. There are three possible outcomes for submission:
1) Immediate acceptance, ready to publish,
2) Acceptance of materials upon completion of editorial suggestions,
3) Decline of materials - this will happen if the material is not related to team building or, after two edits and suggested changes, the material does not meet content expectations.
Length of submissions?
For written materials, we do not have a particular word count at this time. However, Blog readers do like the short-and-sweet posts - "research says" readers are more apt to read shorter posts right away and not put them off as much as longer ones, which, more often than not, do not get read after being filed away.
Long submission can be broken up into "parts", released over two posts if the content is an engaging fit.
Format of submissions?
We will accept Word, Pages and Plain Text documents. Please do not send your submission in PDF form unless you make an agreement with your editor to do so.
Possible submission ideas to Young Team Builders?
NOTE ABOUT PICTURES or GRAPHICS - Adding a photograph or graphic related to your post increases reader interest and engagement. Photographs/Graphics must be at least 2GB and related to your submission. If there are recognizable faces in a photo, the submission must include a photo release signed by the participant(s) and a parent of the participant(s) if they are under 18 years of age. (A photo release can be one page with a permission request statement and the signatures of all participants and parent signatures.)
Including a photo will not influence the acceptance of your submission - your content is the main material under review. Pictures/graphics are a good touch if they can be included.
We look forward to your submission!!
